Exploring the Heart of Sound
This phrase describes the vocal improvisation facilitation that I
do, both one-on-one and in small groups. This is a free service, please
contact me if you or your small group would like to experience this.
At the bottom of this page is a flyer from one of the workshops I presented at ITP.
Improvisation, ideas and invention:
I put together another short page to describe some of the
facilitation techniques developed by the Music for People organization. These are simple
concepts but can have a
profound impact on your instincts for musical creativity.

Institute of Transpersonal Psychology presents:
Exploring the heart-of-sound
with William Croft
Through
the sound and song of our human voice, we can express feeling and
access places inside of us that are unreachable by any other
means. The process of that expression is both nourishing and
transformative. In this evening, you will work with your own
unique and personal vocal sounds, in community with other creative
singers. This is a music that resonates with a sense of heart and
meaning, authenticity, playfulness and joy.
In such work, the consciousness and
synergy
of the group, brings new music, melodies and rhythms to life. The
whole in this case, is greater than the sum of its parts. That is
the definition of synergy. We create a space such that our own
sounds
spark each other into creative leaps and soaring.
We can imagine that each of us has within us,
an indigenous soul,
an ancient part of us that wants to reconnect with earth and nature,
our ancestors and our evolution. And that our songs, our sounds,
can help us bridge these seemingly impossible gaps --acting to
open doorways
for us, reestablishing wisdom and ancient ways of knowing. This
is bringing inner and outer worlds into balance and harmony with nature
and ourselves.
All are welcome. No previous experience necessary. Wear comfortable, loose clothing.
